While Dr. Britts devastating death on General Hospital came as a shock, actress Kelly Thiebaud’s exit did not. The news of Kelly exiting GH came out first in August 2022. Later, it came forth that the talented actress was hanging the doctor’s coat as she had chosen to go back to her recurring role on the primetime show Station 19. However, the latest news from the horse’s mouth suggests that’s not really the case. In the latest chat with Soap Opera Digest, Kelly Thiebaud shared the REAL reason why she opted out of General Hospital.
“I’m in love”, Declares General Hospital’s Kelly Thiebaud
The actress pointed out that there isn’t one single reason that lead to her decision, but a mix of quite a few. The General Hospital actress, who also plays Eva on Station 19, declared that she is in love. Kelly shared that she is in a long-distance relationship for over a year now. Furthermore, she added that her partner cannot move to The United States of America at the moment. So we are guessing she needs more time on her hands to be able to accommodate her romantic escapades. Oh! What a wonderful thing love is!
However, as she suggested, there isn’t just one reason behind the decision to leave behind General Hospital. There also is a professional angle attached to her decision. Kelly has been portraying the role of Dr. Britt on GH for over a decade now, so it’s understandable that she wants to mix things up a bit. The talented actress feels that she wants to go pursue other dreams and explore more options. Although, she admitted that she thoroughly loves her character of Britt.
