Why is Brando Corbin dead on GH? The answer is that he seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and was collateral damage in the hook killer’s attack. And the larger question is – why was he out in the back alley anyway?
It seemed abrupt when Brando stood up and left his wife and mom to follow Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) as she left. But the writers needed him to be there for the attack. But it seemed pretty random for him to be there anyway.
Brando Corbin leaving General Hospital also doesn’t make sense because he’d survived the physical injury. The surgery went well, and everyone thought he was fine. Then he suffered a seizure and other unrelated symptoms that killed him. It seems more is afoot…
The short answer is that the actor’s got other projects, and it benefited the storyline for his addicted wife. Plus, it opens up the whodunnit to what might be a serial killer active in Port Charles.
Sasha Gilmore Wrecked by Brando Corbin’s Death on GH
One thing clear is that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) can’t handle losing her husband. Brando dying on General Hospital will destroy her and likely send her spiraling back into addiction.
Further complicating matters is that Brando recently signed court papers to take conservatorship of his wife to keep her out of jail. With him dead, will someone else need to sign for her? Or will she refuse and decide to go to jail as she mourns?
We expect to see lots more of Sasha falling apart and losing her sobriety. Both Mattsson and Bonnie Burroughs (AKA Gladys Corbin) are doing top-notch work in these scenes after Brando died.

Why is Brando leaving General Hospital? With actor Johnny Wactor busy with a ton of other projects, perhaps he wanted out of his contract. But, no matter what happened behind the scenes, it’s clear Wactor’s not wasting any time.
He’s got two short films in the works, a film and a made-for-TV move ahead, and just wrapped two other projects. He’s a busy, in-demand guy, so his GH character dying could be the best thing for his career. Lots of huge actors got their start on soaps.
We may get a few more flashback scenes of Johnny Wactor, but Brando Corbin died on the ABC soap on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. His funeral is next week as Port Charles mourns the loss. But the hook killer’s just get started so don’t miss a moment.
