General Hospital: Cameron Matthison Opens Up About Sharing Screen With Genie Francis

Getting to work with the favorite star is truly a blessing on its own. That blessing has struck General Hospital actor Cameron Mathison! Yes, he got to work with the legendary actress Genie Francis. Mathison says he was grateful for sharing the screen with her. They both play Drew Cain and Laura Collins on General Hospital, respectively. Isn’t it awesome working with someone you admire the most? Mathison encountered the same feeling on General Hospital with Genie Francis. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, the actor revealed that he is a little bit of a fanboy to Francis. Mathison admitted that working with Susan Lucci in AMC was easier and that he’s still not at that level with Genie. The actor revealed that even his wife was her fan when she was growing up. Cameron also mentioned how iconic Genie Francis is! And, of course, the actor said he used to go home and tell Vanessa (his wife) about his work day with Genie.

But hey, this is not the first time Mathison is working with Francis. He interviewed her on his Hallmark series, HOME & FAMILY, and at a General Hospital fan event. Speaking of which, the actor admitted that Francis is totally a new dynamic on soaps. He revealed how she tweaks the scripts and her character. Mathison also mentioned that he was gentle with her during an action sequence they recently shot. But he admitted how the actress helped him feel comfortable. Francis asked him to throw her around to make the scene better. “It was hard for me, but she was just so cool about it,” said Mathison.

As per Drew and Laura’s storyline on GH, they both are still connected. We know that Drew was sentenced to imprisonment for three years at Pentonville. During the week of July 3-7, 2023, Drew was sent to jail, and spoilers teased that he would cross paths with Cyrus. We never know what the villain has in store for Drew. Oh, wait!
