General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that it’s just a matter of time until “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) remembers who he is and why he was so determined to talk to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) by the pool the day he fell.
Ned will face total recall eventually, so he’ll realize he overheard that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was the one who snitched to the SEC – at least through her anonymous tip to Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight).
Everyone assumes that Ned will blab once his memories come back, but what if he keeps quiet in a shocking twist? Could Ned actually decide to keep Nina’s secret?
There was a lot of heat on Ned when so many people were pointing the finger at him, but that doesn’t seem important now that “Eddie” can’t even remember his true identity.
No one is berating “Eddie” over the SEC drama now, so all of that’s sort of blown over on his end.
Once Ned’s personality is back to normal, the SEC situation may not seem all that important then either – at least not to the people who matter most to him.
There’s still no proof that Ned ratted out Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to the SEC, so Ned can stick to his claims of innocence.
However, that doesn’t mean Ned will necessarily divulge what he learned about Nina before his tumble. There are a couple of factors that could work in Nina’s favor here.
For starters, Nina is bonding with “Eddie” right now and offering support that he’s not getting from other people. “Eddie” is developing a soft spot for Nina, so that could remain on some level after he remembers he’s Ned.
Although Nina doesn’t have pure motives, she’s still connecting with “Eddie” and helping him in ways that others aren’t. That could mean something to Ned once he recalls the whole story.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) formed a bond with Nina in Nixon Falls when he was “Mike” the bartender, but he couldn’t bring himself to truly turn against her once he realized she’d kept secrets from him.
GH writers could turn this into a similar scenario where Ned decides to spare Nina and keep his mouth shut. Even if Ned doesn’t have sympathy for Nina, he might have sympathy for Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
Willow is ready to try opening her heart to Nina after shutting her out for so long. Nina and Willow will finally start to connect as mother and daughter, so what if Ned decides he can’t wreck that for Willow – not after everything she’s been through?
It’d be an interesting twist if Nina expects Ned to ruin everything and gets surprised when he lets her actions slide.
Of course, there’s no way Nina can keep her role in Drew and Carly’s punishment under wraps forever, but Ned’s silence could delay the big reveal and force a secret to come out another way.
