General Hospital spoilers tease when Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) came to town, little was revealed about just how Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) found the young man who would enlist himself as the best person for the job of taking Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his business of organized crime apart piece by piece. The more we get to know Dex, the more we see his personality mirror Sonny’s, and there’s a reason for that. Sonny and Dex are father and son. When Michael realizes this, it’ll be too late to stop what he’s put in motion. Still, fans will be left wondering just as much as Sonny is — who is Dex’s mother?
General Hospital Spoilers — We Know Who It Isn’t
Sonny is a man of many talents, and one he is most recognized for is seemingly getting every woman in his orbit to fall in love with him — especially those who are working against him. Bring in any female federal agent or undercover cop and she’s sure to lose sight of her real purpose in Port Charles and end up in the mobster’s bed. While it might not paint the perfect picture of professionalism among women, Sonny’s role has always been as a bit of a casanova and a savior. He’s come a long way from being a strip club owner — but not that far.
With many notches on his bedpost, we can rest assured he doesn’t have a son waiting in the wings from Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil), whose only son was fathered by Aleksander Janáček (Antoine Knoppers). Although Dex seems bent on ruining Sonny, he is too old to have been the result of Sonny’s love affairs with either FBI agent Hannah Scott (Lisa Vultaggio) or federal agent Claire Walsh (Dahlia Salem). While the return of another federal agent, Reese Marshall (Kari Wuhrer), would be an exciting addition on the heels of Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) trip to Jacksonville, writers seemed to more recently pretend her trip to Port Charles never happened. However, it did, in 2005, making Dex too old to be Reese’s child.
GH Spoilers – Tease His Mom Might Be A Real Karen Wexler
Karen Wexler was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Bringing important storylines like sexual abuse and having an alcoholic mother to the screen, Karen’s role evolved into one that many other women in Port Charles have — Sonny’s lover. She worked as a stripper in Sonny’s club, The Paradise Lounge, for a short time when she was underage, and during that time had an even more brief affair with him in the early to mid-nineties. Sonny wasn’t exactly kind to Karen — offering her drugs, and tormenting her about her mom’s boyfriend molesting her whenever he needed a leg up in an argument. If Dex is Karen’s son, the age and timing would line up well, and so would his military record where he assaulted a superior while defending others from physical abuse — an issue close to his heart.
General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos’s First Wife
It’s also quite possible Dex is the child of Lily Corinthos (Lilly Melgar), Sonny’s first wife. Lily’s father was Hernando Rivera (Ismael ‘East’ Carlo), and he hated Sonny with a passion. Wanting to eliminate him from Lily’s life, he planted a bomb in Sonny’s car. However, Lily ended up in the car instead and was said to have perished in the explosion just a few days after revealing to Sonny that she was pregnant. It’s possible Hernando staged the whole thing, kidnapped his own daughter, and raised her son to hate his father just as much as his grandfather did. If Dex is Lily’s son, fans are going to go wild if she is alive and makes a return as well. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead!
