‘HUGE BUMMER’ Sister Wives’ Meri Brown finally confirms she split from boyfriend Amos Andrews after couple receives major backlash
MERI Brown has confirmed that she and Amos Andrews have called it quits after a lot of controversy.
Meri, 53, debuted her boyfriend, Amos Andrews, in January shortly after divorcing her ex-husband Kody Brown.
On Friday, the Sister Wives star posted a new video on Instagram with a friend revealing her new single status.
About 15 minutes into the video, she revealed the upsetting reason why she and Amos called it quits.
Meri claimed that after she announced her relationship, some of her followers started “going crazy.”
She said: “Y’all went crazy and you had to dig into everything. Everything.
“Make stuff up, find truth, merge them together, make these crazy stories, and try to make somebody look bad.”
She went on to explain that it was a lot for Amos to handle because he wasn’t used to the limelight.
Then, she confirmed that she and Amos officially broke up last week after “a bunch of discussions.”
Meri also mentioned that breaking up with him was a “huge bummer, especially when you really care for someone.”
In the comment section of Meri’s video, fans shared their sorrow with the TLC star.
One said: “I’m so sorry Meri about Amos. My heart goes out to you all.”
“That’s really awful that people had to say such awful things, that hurt you and Amos.
“People just can’t let others be happy and live life. I’m sorry to hear y’all broke up,” wrote another.
“Sorry to hear you and Amos broke up,” added a third.
A fan commented: “So sorry. Really sad that people can’t just stay supportive and stay out of your private life.”
“Sorry to hear Meri. Social media is such a disease today. Thank god for family and friends to get you to the next chapter in life,” said a fifth.
EX-WIFE’S BUMMER
Meri’s ex-boyfriend has been accused of refusing to pay child support to his second wife, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed.
One of Amos’ four ex-wives spoke to The U.S. Sun about his alleged “controlling” behavior and “obsession” with reality stars.
Then, in new court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun, more was revealed about Amos’ past and his relationship with his second wife, Shannon Marie Martin.
They were married in Las Vegas on February 18, 1995 – when he was 26 and she was 18 – and welcomed a daughter together two years later.
Shannon filed for divorce in Arizona on August 16, 2000, and the couple has since been embroiled in a nasty child support battle.
Amos was ordered to pay Shannon $373 per month in child support beginning February 1, 2001, and lasting until Tiffany’s 18th birthday.
However, over the next 12 years, Amos’ ex-wife claimed he failed to adhere to court orders.
In August 2013, Shannon went back to court to file a petition to modify custody/legal decision-making, parenting time, and child support.
Shannon alleged: “The father did not make consistent child support payments from the time of divorce in 2001 until his wages were garnished in 2008.
“The 7 years of arrears total approximately $10,000 for which the father currently pays only $125 per month through wage garnishment.”
She continued: “The father has been difficult to reach, and frequently changed phone numbers, mailing addresses, and email addresses without informing the mother, sometimes multiple times a year.”
She explained that all of this accounted for her not being able to collect child support and request payment for his share of expenses.
Shannon also alleged in the court docs that he had “refused to contribute to the child’s expenses for daycare, medical/dental/vision, and education,” for the past 12 years, and that she paid for “every extra-curricular school activity, medical appointment, counseling, braces, glasses, contacts, etc.”
Shannon informed the court that in addition to paying for expenses for Tiffany, she also had three other children under the age of 10.
