Watching and reacting to Season 17 of Sister Wives, Gwendlyn Brown is especially disgusted to see how her father Kody treated his first wife, Meri.

It is no secret that Kody Brown’s children with his other wives have little relationship with Meri. Paedon Brown, for example, openly admitted he has zero relationship with Meri. He clarified that phones work both ways and she made no effort to have a relationship with him either. Things also got messy as Gwendlyn, Mykelti, and Paedon continued to spill family tea and fans learned Meri was abusive with some of Kody’s children with his other wives. Mykelti Padron actually admitted that she was not comfortable having Meri Brown around her children.

Despite not having fond childhood memories of Meri Brown and not having much of a relationship with her, Gwendlyn was quick to defend her when she watched how her father treated Meri during Season 17 of the series.

On the episode of the show that Gwendlyn was watching, Meri Brown talks about how strong she is as she continues to wait around to see if things will work out with Kody. During a confessional, however, Kody Brown makes it clear he does not consider himself to be married to his wife Meri anymore. In fact, Kody completely supports the idea of Meri finding a new man to be with.

At that moment, Gwendlyn Brown gasped. Disgusted at her father she called attention to the fact that he was doing nothing more than leading Meri on at this point in time. When the episode concluded, Gwendlyn swung back to the topic because she wanted to call more attention to the way her father was treating Meri.

It is so unfortunate to see my dad going off on how he and Meri basically have this done relationship. She doesn’t know that. They haven’t had a conversation about it. And I think that’s what’s so important about what my mom did with him, because she said, ‘We are done.’ She told him to his face that they were over and Kody hasn’t done anything.”

Gwendlyn praised her mother Christine for so maturely handling the end of her marriage with Kody. And, she wishes Kody would have just told Meri the truth instead of stringing her along with the hopes of rekindling their romance one day.
