The controversial Kody Brown, of Sister Wives fame, is believed to be more narcissistic behind the scenes than he is when the cameras are rolling. TLC has been filming the Brown family since 2010 when the show’s first season aired. The series tells the story of a polygamous family by giving insights into how they live their lives and the unique rules they follow due to their religion.
Sister Wives‘ Kody Brown used to have four wives: Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown. However, he has recently divorced Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown, leaving him only married to Robyn, his legal wife. He has never really been a fan favorite because of how he treats his wives and children. Kody decided not to be intimate with Meri Brown anymore following her catfish scandal, and also preferred to distance himself from Christine. Finally, his manipulation and distance have led to the destruction of three out of his four marriages.
Sister Wives Fans Believe Kody Displayed Narcissism
Sister Wives fans began to think that all of Kody’s unpleasant characteristics could be intensified off-camera, including his alleged narcissism. According to a Reddit thread started by u/probzhyperbole, Meri stayed with Kody to be a thorn in his side. After seeing how Kody spoke to Christine, fans who shared the same views are beginning to think that it may not be true. It seems like if Kody can’t control his bad behavior while the cameras are rolling, he must be a nightmare when he isn’t surrounded by a production team. If he can’t filter himself around strangers, he definitely doesn’t do it in front of his family.
Sister Wives Fans Were Concerned For Christine & Mari
Fans didn’t buy it for a moment that Kody was doing anything for Christine’s sake or to please any of his wives, for that matter. His discussion with Christine is shown in Sister Wives season 17, episode 1 of the show. Kody was trying to emotionally manipulate Christine while they were filming. One Redditor said, “Kody is emotionally manipulative and abusive on camera. I don’t want to think how bad it probably gets off camera.” During Kody’s Sister Wives chat, it was obvious that Meri seems to get the short end of the stick, even when compared to what Christine had to deal with.
After Kody’s poor treatment of his wives went on for several years, it’s encouraging to see that Christine, Meri, and Janelle Brown have moved on from Kody. Christine is in a happy relationship with her boyfriend, David Woolley, while Janelle has recently spoken about being happy as a grandmother to her daughter Maddie’s three children. Meri, who’s had arguably the hardest time adapting since leaving Kody, is continuing to show resilience even after what she went through being married to Kody. Hopefully, all the Sister Wives will find someone who treats them better.
