General Hospital Spoilers: Dante’s Difficult Journey on New GH Episodes – How Damaged Character Changed & What He’ll Do Next?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) return is most likely just around the corner. The hints were revving up both on screen and off before the shutdown happened. If there’s one return you can bet on when new episodes start airing again, we’d say it’s Dante. All the signs are there, and Zamprogna’s more than willing to make a comeback.

However, GH fans may see a very different Dante once he finally returns to Port Charles. Dante has been at a special WSB facility, where he’s struggled to deprogram and overcome a dangerous mentality.

When Dante left, he was deeply concerned about the threat he posed to his loved ones. While Dante’s been gone, he’s been rejecting Olivia Falconeri’s (Lisa LoCicero) letters and shutting everybody out.

After Dante recovers and is released, there’s no way he’ll just go back to being the same old Dante he was before. This horrible ordeal cost Dante his family and everyone close to him. The show has focused on how much pain Dante’s loved ones are in, but what about Dante’s pain? This whole nightmare certainly isn’t something that Dante wanted.

Due to Dante’s programming, he became mentally ill. It’s not like Dante abandoned his family; he just wanted to keep them safe. As for divorcing Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), General Hospital viewers know that was an act of love as well. Dante didn’t want Lulu to wait forever, so he forced her to come to grips with his departure and move on.

Now that Lulu has indeed moved on and life itself has been rolling along without Dante in PC, he may not even come home immediately upon his release. It could be a case where Dante’s family finds out he’s been released and living off the grid.

Based on Dante’s behavior since he went away, it’d be reasonable for Dante to think everyone’s better off without him.

Perhaps Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) could be the person to ultimately track Dante down and bring him home. It could serve as a good distraction for Sonny after Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) upcoming death.

The idea of having his son back after losing his father should be awfully appealing to Sonny, who’ll be drowning in grief and desperate for a little hope.

Dante can provide that hope for Sonny, but things may be just as difficult once he’s found and returns home. There’s a good chance Dante will be fragile and closed off. Dante may even be cold and bitter in some ways. It’ll take a lot of work to bring Dante back to a version of himself that’s even close to who he was before.

This sounds like it could be a really interesting journey for the character, so let’s hope all the pieces come together for this big return! As other GH news emerges, we’ll deliver updates.
