GET A ROOM! Sister Wives’ Robyn and Kody Brown slammed for ‘selfish’ and ‘gross’ behavior during Christine’s wedding special
KODY Brown has been called out by fans for some inappropriate behavior during ex-wife Christine’s wedding special.
The Sister Wives patriarch was slammed for making out with wife Robyn, as his ex married someone else.
The second part of Christine and David’s wedding special, titled Sister Wives: Christine and David’s Wedding aired Sunday night.
Part two featured the big celebration and reception after the couple said their I do’s.
Although Kody wasn’t invited to the big day, he was part of the wedding special, appearing in a filmed interview with his last-standing wife Robyn, 45.
The 54-year-old reflected on his failed marriage to Christine, and seemed to choke back tears as he shared his emotions.
“That this wedding is happening is not really any of my business at this point. It’s just, like, Christine doesn’t need my permission, anything like that,” he told cameras.
“My only concern would be for my children, and how they’re treated within that relationship. And I think they’re all old enough to be fine.”
Kody confessed he has only met David once, and could not judge his character. But he is trying to take the high road.
“I’m happy for them and I wish for them all the happiness life can give them. That’s my honest feeling. And that’s it.”
HIGH EMOTIONS
However, he became choked up when he thought of Christine moving on forever.
“It’s hard for that to not be on my mind,” he said, his voice cracking. “We had 25 years together…”
Kody’s emotions were clearly starting to get the better of him, and he stuttered, “I’m just going to keep talking until those cameras leave.”
In came Robyn to the rescue.
As Kody teared up, she removed her gloves, grabbed his face and demanded, “Here, give me a kiss.”
She then planted her lips right on his, starting to make out. Mid-smooch, Robyn waved the cameras away, as Kody flashed a big thumbs up.
In an online chat room, fans were appalled at their over-the-top behavior.
“Kody and Robyn kissing was eww,” one person declared.
A second agreed, “Kody and Robyn’s kiss was sooooo awkward.”
While a third subtly called it, “a little much.”
MONEY IN THE BANK
Kody was never expected to be a part of the special, especially after not being invited to the wedding in the first place.
But, according to a source, he had a good reason to still air his feelings.
“Sister Wives is Kody’s show. He’s head of the family and in the beginning, he was head of the family’s contract,” a source told The U.S. Sun exclusively.
“He was the one who initiated the show. It will forever be his show.
“He’s being kind to allow Christine on the show at this point, but as far as the special goes, he had to be part of it because he knows it brings in money.”
Apart from Sister Wives being “his show,” he “needed a paycheck,” a source claimed.
“This is his life and it’s what is helping him pay the bills.”
SISTER SEQUEL?
Christine and Kody split in November 2021. Following their split, Meri and Janelle also announced they had separated from the patriarch in December 2022.
During the wedding special, Kody admitted, “Just because I’ve been angry for three years doesn’t mean that I can’t be happy for [David and Christine].”
With Christine and his other two wives separating from him, his feelings were brought to light in season 18 as well as the tension it caused with Robyn.
However, he was seen being playful with Robyn as they were being interviewed for the wedding special and even locking lips.
A source shared: “He’s still pretty angry and he is still very different.
“People are going to downplay it and say that Robyn’s being dramatic, but she’s not. He’s still finding his way back to some kind of joy.”
As for Robyn and Kody, “they’re not really happy,” the source claimed.
“They don’t have the same life that they had before. They’re used to love and friends and family and all that joy, and they don’t really have that. They just have their little circle right now.”
For now, “there’s a lot more work that needs to be done to fix it,” which is why the source said that they’re focusing on their own relationship and not seeking a new sister wife at the moment.
“He has it all with Robyn. He doesn’t need anything else,” the source revealed. “And he’s not really serving God anymore because it’s all broken. He feels that he’s failed that.”
