IN LOVE & BROKE? Sister Wives Meri Brown and new boyfriend Amos Andrew make shocking bankruptcy confession but insist ‘it doesn’t matter’
MERI Brown has confessed to filing for bankruptcy in the past during a recent Instagram Live video.
The Sister Wives star featured her boyfriend, Amos Andrew, on her latest Friday with Friends segment on the social media platform.
Meri, 53, sat next to her man while virtually talking with her friend Jenn Sullivan.
At one point, Jenn asked the couple, “Amos and Meri, at the same time, how many bankruptcies have you had?”
Together, they admitted they each had one in the past.
Meri, the ex of polygamist Kody Brown, went on to explain that she believes “bankruptcies are not a big deal.”
She and Amos also revealed that they both filed roughly 25 years ago.
“Who the heck cares that you had a bankruptcy,” Meri said in a frustrated tone.
“Things happen, and you just build your way out of it. It doesn’t define who you are,” the TLC star added.
“It doesn’t matter what happened to you in the past, who you are now is what matters and how you act on it.

“And it’s all the outside voices, it’s actually voices in our heads too that a lot of times will come from outside voices, trying to tell you that you’re not worthy or you’re not good enough because you had a speeding ticket or a bankruptcy,” she explained.
MERI & KODY
According to court documents, Meri and her ex Kody, 55, filed jointly for bankruptcy in 2005.
Meri was the first of the four wives Kody married and the two were together from 1990-2023.
In 2014, Kody legally divorced Meri to marry his “favorite” sister wife Robyn, 45, so he could adopt her three children.
Kody and Meri’s marriage was on the rocks for many years, as she had contemplated leaving the family on the TLC series several times.
On January 10, 2023, Meri took to social media to share an official joint statement about her divorce on Instagram.
Fellow sister wives Christine, 51, and Janelle, 54, also divorced Kody around the same time.
Kody and Meri share one son Leon, who came out as a transgender man in 2022.
UPGRADED RELATIONSHIP
For her birthday on January 16, 2024, Meri finally revealed her new boyfriend on Instagram after her divorce from Kodi.
The TLC star shared selfies of herself and her new man.
Two of the snaps in her carousel post captured the pair side-hugging each other while cozy in the house together.
Another snap showed them all bundled up as they smiled while outdoors in the cold weather.
“Birthday 53 is looking a bit different for me this year, and might I say, I like how it looks,” she said in the birthday post.
“Meet Amos, the good looking guy I’ve been dating since October! He’s not 6 foot 6, nor is he a pilot, but he loves Christmas almost as much as I do, and we laugh a lot together, both of which are important elements to a relationship!
“I’ve been keeping this kind of close to me as we’ve been enjoying the last few months of dating and getting to know each other,” she disclosed.
“I knew I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a special way and let you celebrate this with me!
“I feel like I’m getting this year off to a great start, and I can’t wait to share more with you as the year moves forward!” she concluded.
Fans hurried to her comment section to congratulate Meri on her newfound love, taking a shot at Meri’s ex in the process.
