Maddie Brown Brush took to Instagram sharing an update on her baby daughter’s health. She revealed that Evangalynn got her foot amputated. The Instagram photo featured Maddie holding the girl whose left leg and right arm are bandaged. The mother wrote in the caption that her little girl received some major gifts for her 1st birthday. She detailed upon Evie’s amputation surgery talking about the mobility and clipping of webbing she had in her right hand.
Evie Suffered From Oligodactyly
Maddie Brush further added that Evie was diagnosed with oligodactyly. It is a congenital anomaly due to the presence of fewer than five fingers on a hand. After the surgery, the family has returned home and Evie is ‘recovering beautifully’ after the procedures. The fans might recall that when the little girl was born, she was missing a thumb and a toe, and one leg was missing a fibula.
The parents were shocked to discover their daughter’s diagnosis of fibular aplasia, tibial campomelia and oligosyndactyly (FATCO) syndrome. Maddie remembers the time and said that she was freaking out ‘trying to comprehend what’s going on.’ The family waited till Evie turned 1 to find the best treatment for her problem. However, Brush said at that time that her daughter will grow up to have ‘limitations, but not huge hindrances.’ Brush also has a son Axel James, 3.
